Determining Installation Locations

Determining Installation Locations

Before installing devices into the cabinet, you must determine the installation location of each device to install guide rails and floating nuts.

  • A cabinet has been installed and grounded.
  • The required installation tools and materials, such as markers, have been prepared.
  • For easy maintenance, ventilation, and heat dissipation, make sure that the cabinet is at least 1000 mm from walls and at least 1200 mm from other cabinets.
  • To keep a convective air transfer between the cabinet and the equipment room, no enclosed space is allowed in the cabinet. It is recommended that you leave 1 U (1 U = 44.45 mm) space above and below each device.

  1. Determine the installation location of each device. Install the devices according to the specific installation environment.

Every three square holes correspond to 1 U height. Every 1 U height is lined out with a scale mark. If no 1 U scale mark is lined out on the front and rear columns of the cabinet, line out the scale mark to facilitate installation location.

  2. Optional: Before installing adjustable guide rails in the cabinet, use a marker to mark the positions for installing the adjustable guide rails and securing screws on the mounting bars.
