Table 2-1 provides the physical network requirements of nodes.

Node Type

Network Requirements

Management node

  • Management nodes can be deployed on VMs, storage nodes, and external physical servers.
  • Management nodes can be deployed in active/standby or standalone mode.
  • Management network: At least one GE network port is planned.

Compute node

  • Management network: At least one GE network port is planned.
  • Service network: Port bonding is recommended to aggregate network ports between compute nodes and storage nodes. This will improve network redundancy reliability.
    NOTE:

    The service network requirements apply to scenarios where VBS is deployed on storage nodes.

  • Storage network: Port bonding is recommended to aggregate network ports between compute nodes and storage nodes. This will improve network redundancy reliability.

NIC and network types:

  • TCP/IP: Ports can be bond in bond1 or bond4 mode. At least two 10GE or25GE ports are planned.
  • IB: Ports can be bond in bond2 mode. At least two 40 Gbit/s, 56 Gbit/s, or 100 Gbit/s ports are planned.
  • RoCE: Ports can be bond in bond1 or bond2 mode. At least two 25GE or 40GE ports are planned. Ports cannot be bond across NICs.
  • In RoCE networks, RoCEv2 NICs are recommended.
