Creating and Deleting an Account

The user management function of DeviceManager allows you to create an account and grant specific permissions to it, so that the account can manage the system or resources. You can also delete the accounts that are no longer used.

Creating an Account

  1. Log in to DeviceManager and choose Settings > User and Security > Users and Roles > User Management.
  2. Click Add. The Add User page is displayed.
  3. Enter Username, Password, Confirm Password, and Role.

    • The user name and password must comply with the current security policy.
    • Possible roles are super administrator, administrator, system viewer, security administrator, and SAN resource administrator.
      • A maximum of two super administrator accounts can exist in the system.
      • For details about the operation rights of each role, see the FusionStorage Block Storage Administrator Guide.

  4. Click OK.

Deleting an Account

  1. Log in to DeviceManager and choose Settings > User and Security > Users and Roles > User Management.
  2. Locate the row that contains the account to be deleted, and click Remove.
  3. In the Remove dialog box that is displayed, select I have read and understand the consequences associated with performing this operation and click OK.
