Configuring iBMC IP Addresses

Configuring iBMC IP Addresses

iBMC is a remote management system of Huawei servers. It monitors and manages hardware in a highly reliable manner. This section uses the V5 server as an example to describe how to configure the iBMC IP address. The method of configuring the iBMC IP address for a TaiShan server is similar.

  1. Log in to the server through KVM. For details, see Logging In to the Server Through KVM.
  2. Run the reboot command to restart the server.
  3. During the system startup, press Delete to access the BIOS page if information in Figure 2-4 is displayed.

    • If a dialog box prompting you to enter a password is displayed during the startup process, enter a BIOS password. The default BIOS passwords of the V5 servers and TaiShan servers are Admin@9000 and Huawei12#$, respectively.
    • Do not press F9 to restore the default BIOS settings or enable the NUMA function in BIOS.

  4. Choose Advanced > IPMI iBMC Configuration and press Enter, as shown in Figure 2-5.
