Software Introduction
This section describes the SystemReporter software positioning, versions of supported products, and interface layout.
Software Positioning
As a piece of performance monitoring software applicable to storage systems, SystemReporter can help users know the performance status and trend of storage systems.
SystemReporter employs multiple approaches including data collection, archiving, analysis, and forecast to provide real-time performance monitoring, historical performance monitoring, capacity forecasting, and performance alarm functions. On SystemReporter, users can directly know the performance of storage systems. If the performance of storage systems decreases, SystemReporter can help users quickly diagnose faults.
Logical Structure for Software Deployment
Component Name |
Description |
---|---|
Browser |
A user can log in to SystemReporter through a browser to monitor performance status of storage devices. |
Server |
You are advised to use independent servers to deploy SystemReporter and GaussDB to facilitate management.
|
Storage system |
OceanStor storage systems are brand-new mid-range and high-end storage products designed to meet medium- and large-sized enterprises' requirements for mass data storage, high-speed data access, high availability, high utilization, energy saving, and ease-of-use. |
Historical performance monitoring |
The user interface supports viewing and exporting of historical performance data. |
Real-time performance monitoring |
The user interface supports viewing and exporting of real-time performance data. |
Alarm |
A performance threshold alarm is generated if certain conditions are met after the system compares the collected performance data with the threshold. The alarm is displayed on the management interface or sent to the client through remote notification. |
Reporting |
Performance and capacity reports are sent to customer mailboxes regularly by email. |
Data processing |
Performance data is converged, archived, and deleted. |
Performance collection |
Real-time and historical performance data is regularly obtained from storage systems. |
Capacity collection |
Capacity data of LUNs, storage pools, and disk domains is regularly obtained from storage systems. |
Storage resource collection |
Resource information is obtained from storage systems every 10 minutes. |
Supported Products
You can query the version mapping of SystemReporter to obtain the product versions and product models compatible with SystemReporter. Method of obtaining SystemReporter version mapping: Log in to Huawei technical support website (http://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/), enter SystemReporter version mapping in the search bar, and search for, browse, and download OceanStor SystemReporter Version Mapping.
