How Can I Solve the Problem if the Installation Fails Using a Non-administrator User in Windows?
Symptom
Installation fails using a non-administrator user.
Possible Causes
The installation process involves automatic registration service startup and shortcut bar creation. The installation fails because a non-administrator user has insufficient permissions.
Procedure
- Ensure that the user has administrator permissions. If it is a non-administrator user, in the CLI, run net localgroup administrators username /add as an administrator to add the user to the group of administrators.
- Open the Run dialog box, enter regedit, and click OK. In Registry Editor that is displayed, modify the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA to 0 (Record the original value of EnableLUA for later restoration.).
- Restart Windows to validate the configuration.
- If necessary, restore the registry following steps 2 and 3 after SystemReporter is installed successfully.
- To uninstall SystemReporter, you must first modify EnableLUA to 0 following operations in steps 2 and 3.
