Installing SystemReporter (in Windows)
This section describes the steps for installing SystemReporter in Windows.
Prerequisites
- The Windows Service Manager is not open.
- The SystemReporter installation package has been obtained, and the SystemReporter version is supported by the storage system.
- The internal port used by SystemReporter is not occupied. For details about port information, see the related Communication Matrix.
- Data information such as the installation directory and user name has been prepared. For details, see Preparing Data.
- The installation files have been decompressed. The path for decompressing the installation package of the Windows operating system can contain a maximum of 256 characters. You are advised to decompress the installation package to the root directory
Procedure
- Optional: (If OceanStor BCManager eReplication and SystemReporter are deployed on one server, perform this operation. Otherwise, skip this operation.) Create an administrator.
- Install OceanStor BCManager eReplication as administrator. For details about how to install it, see the user guide.
- In the cmd command window, run the net user username password /add to create a user.
- Run the net localgroup administrators username /add to added the created user to the administrators group.
- Open the Run dialog box, enter regedit, and click OK. In Registry Editor that is displayed, change the value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA to 0.
- Restart Windows to validate the configuration.
- If SystemReporter is independently deployed on one server, perform the following operation as administrator. If a non-administrator user is used for installation, modify the registry configuration by referring to How Can I Solve the Problem if the Installation Fails Using
a Non-administrator User in Windows?. If SystemReporter and eReplication are deployed on one server, perform the following operation as the administrator created at 1.b.
- Optional: After the installation is complete, select Start up the SystemReporter software immediately in the Info dialog box and click OK.
NOTE:
Enable SystemReporter services before you use SystemReporter. If the service is not enabled. You can follow instructions in Starting SystemReporter Services to enable the service.
- Optional: If antivirus software OfficeScan of Trend Micro is installed in the server environment, refer to section 3.8.7 Enabling the Exception List in the Security Configuration Guide of the corresponding version to add the SystemReporter installation directory and SystemReporter database installation directory to the exception list.
