Configuring the LOM PXE
Scenarios
Configure the PXE function for an LOM on a server using BIOS. The PXE enables the server to boot over the network.
Procedure
- Access the BIOS. For details, see Accessing the BIOS.
- Press ← or → to switch to the Advanced screen shown in Figure 3-16, which is an example screen for TaiShan 200 (model 2280).
- Choose LOM Configuration > PXE Configuration and press Enter.The PXE Configuration screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 3-17.
The PXE Configuration screen may vary according to the server.
- Configure the PXE function.
- Select the network port such as PXE1 Configuration, and press Enter.
- In the dialog box that is displayed, select Enable and press Enter.
- Select a network protocol for PXE boot.
- Select PXE Boot Capability and press Enter.
- In the dialog box that is displayed, select a network protocol that needs to be supported.
- UEFI: IPv4
- UEFI: IPv6
- UEFI: IPv4/IPv6
- HTTPS: IPv4
- HTTPS: IPv6
- HTTPS: IPv4/IPv6
The value of this parameter varies according to the server model or BIOS version. For details, see LOM Configuration.
- Press F10.
The system displays the "Save configuration changes and exit?" dialog box.
- Select Yes and press Enter.
The server automatically restarts for the settings to take effect.
