Setting the Server Boot Device
Scenarios
Set the device from which the server is booted.
Procedure
- Access the BIOS. For details, see Accessing the BIOS.
- Press ← or → to switch to the Boot tab, as shown in Figure 4-24.
- Set the first boot device.
- To set a hard disk, RAID array, or SATADOM as the first boot device, perform the following steps:
- On the Boot Type Order screen, set Hard Disk Driver as the first boot option, as shown in Setting the Server Boot Mode.
- Select EFI and press Enter. The EFI screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-25.
The EFI screen displays only the boot devices supported.
- On the EFI screen, select Hard Disk Driver and press Enter.
- Press + or – to move the hard disk device (hard disk, RAID array, or SATA DOM) to the first row.
- If the OS has not been installed on the hard disk of the server, the Hard Disk Driver list is empty. The hard disk selected to install the OS is the boot disk.
- If the OS has been installed on the server hard disk, the OS version is displayed in the Hard Disk Driver list. You can adjust the OS sequence to set the first boot disk.
- To set the DVD-ROM drive as the first boot device, perform the following steps:
- On the Boot Type Order screen, set CD/DVD-ROM Driver as the first boot option, as shown in Setting the Server Boot Mode.
- On the EFI screen, select CD/DVD-ROM Driver and press Enter.
- Press + or – to move the DVD-ROM drive to the first row.
- To set PXE as the first boot device, perform the following steps:
- On the Boot Type Order screen, set PXE as the first boot option, as shown in Setting the Server Boot Mode.
- On the EFI screen, select PXE and press Enter.
- Press + or - to move the PXE to the first row.
- To set a USB device as the first boot device, perform the following steps:
- On the Boot Type Order screen, set Others as the first boot option, as shown in Setting the Server Boot Mode.
- On the EFI screen, select Others and press Enter.
- Press + or - to move the USB device to the first row as the first boot option.
- If the OS is to be installed on a USB flash drive, select the USB device model.
- If the OS is to be installed on an SD card, select SD.
- To set a hard disk, RAID array, or SATADOM as the first boot device, perform the following steps:
- Press F10.
The system displays the "Save configuration changes and exit?" dialog box.
- Select Yes and press Enter.
The server automatically restarts for the settings to take effect.
