PCM Solution

The OSN 1800 V uses the built-in PCM technology to integrate the functions of PCM, MSTP, and OTN devices. The all-in-one solution simplifies networks, unifies O&M, and reduces costs.

The build-in PCM technology has the following advantages:

  • High reliability: Low-rate services are directly transmitted to reduce the number of network nodes and the network fault rate.

    According to the reliability calculation, PCM services are directly connected to the OSN 1800 devices, prolonging the mean time between failures (MTBF) by 60%.

  • Simple O&M: The U2000 is used for unified management to implement E2E service provisioning and monitoring, and E2E fault location and recovery.
  • Cost saving: After the OTN and PCM devices are integrated, the following benefits are prominent:
    • Reduced installation footprint and rentals
    • Energy saving and emission reduction
    • No PCM devices need to be purchased, curtailing the network construction cost
    • Smooth network evolution from PCM to OTN, protecting operators' investments
