Location Profile
Overview
A location profile is used to enable the WLAN location function and configure location server parameters and the mode used by APs to report location information.
CLI-based Procedure
For details, see Wi-Fi Tag Location Configuration in the Configuration, Bluetooth Location Configuration in the Configuration and Terminal Location Configuration in the Configuration
Web-based Procedure
- Log in to the web platform, and choose or . Click the AP group name or AP ID to access the AP group or AP configuration page.
Select Display all profiles. Choose . Select an existing profile or create a new one.
Access the profile page. Table 3-87 describes the parameters on this page.

Item |
Description |
---|---|
AeroScout Location |
|
Tag location |
AeroScout tag location function. By default, the function is disabled. |
STA location |
AeroScout MU location function. By default, the function is disabled. |
Packet aggregation interval (100ms) |
Interval of AeroScout tag location packet aggregation and MU packet aggregation. The value range is 0 to 65535. The default value is 65535. |
Data report mode |
Mode in which AeroScout location packets are reported.
NOTE:
Each location profile defines three location methods: AeroScout location, Ekahau location, and private location. If multiple location profiles are used and the same location method is used, Through AC can be specified only in one profile. |
Server port number |
Port number of the AeroScout location server. |
AC port number |
AC port number used to communicate with the AeroScout location server. |
Ekahau Location |
|
Tag location |
Ekahau tag location function. By default, the function is disabled. |
Data report mode |
Mode in which Ekahau location packets are reported.
NOTE:
Each location profile defines three location methods: AeroScout location, Ekahau location, and private location. If multiple location profiles are used and the same location method is used, Through AC can be only specified in one profile. |
Server IP/port number |
IP address and port number of the Ekahau location server. |
AC port number |
AC port number used to communicate with the Ekahau location server. |
Private Location |
|
STA location |
STA location function. By default, the function is disabled. |
Data report interval (ms) |
Interval for reporting STA location packets. The value range is 500 to 60000. The default value is 20000. |
Protocol version |
STA location protocol version. The options can be:
|
Data report mode |
Mode in which STA location packets are reported.
NOTE:
Each location profile defines three location methods: AeroScout location, Ekahau location, and private location. If multiple location profiles are used and the same location method is used, Through AC can be only specified in one profile. |
Server connection |
IP address/Domain mane and port number of the terminal location server. |
AC port number |
AC port number used to communicate with the STA location server. |
Source IP address of outgoing packets |
Source IP address in location packets reported by the AC to the location server. |
Protocol type |
Protocol type used by APs to report information. |
SSL policy |
SSL policy name. If wireless configuration synchronization is enabled, ensure that the same SSL policy is configured on the master and backup ACs. |
Wireless Device Location Data |
|
Wireless location collection |
Whether to enable the function of collecting wireless device location data. By default, the function is disabled. |
RSSI threshold for collecting location data (dBm) |
After the function of collecting wireless device location data is enabled, only data with the RSSIs of higher than the threshold is collected. The value range is -95 to 0. The default value is -75. |
