Application Scenarios for E&M Interfaces
This section describes the application scenario of E&M interfaces in the air traffic control scenario.
As shown in Figure 10-2, RouterA connects to the internal call system in the ACC through an E&M interface, and RouterB connects to the station through an E&M interface. RouterA and RouterB have set up an MPLS tunnel between them.
When a traffic control person calls a person on an airplane, E&M signals are transparently transmitted to the station through the MPLS tunnel. The station that has set up a connection with the airplane sends the signals to the airplane through the wireless tower. In this way, the call between the traffic control person and the person on the airplane is implemented.
