Configuring a Dial-up Connection
Context
Before a device connects to a 5G network through a 5G cellular interface or 5G cellular channel interface, you need to configure the C-DCC dial-up connection function on the device. C-DCC supports on-demand dial-up and automatic dial-up.
- On-demand dial-up applies to scenarios where users are charged based on the traffic volume or online duration. For example, a traffic-package service allows users to use a certain volume of traffic within a specified period.
- Automatic dial-up applies to scenarios where users are not charged based on the traffic volume or online duration. For example, in the yearly-package service, there is no limit on the traffic volume and online duration of users within the specified period.
Procedure
- (Optional) Configure a dialer control list. This step is mandatory only when on-demand dial-up is used.
- Configure a dial-up connection on a 5G cellular interface or 5G cellular channel interface.
- In the single-APN or active/standby APN scenario, configure a dial-up connection on a 5G cellular interface.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
A 5G cellular interface is created and the 5G cellular interface view is displayed.
- Run dialer enable-circular
The C-DCC function is enabled.
By default, the C-DCC function is disabled on an interface.
- Configure a 5G cellular interface to perform C-DCC dial-up.
- Configure automatic dial-up.
After the dialer enable-circular command is run on a 5G cellular interface of an 5G AR router to enable C-DCC, the 5G AR router automatically delivers the C-DCC, IP address negotiation, and 5G modem self-healing configurations, removing the need to perform these configurations repeatedly.
- Configure on-demand dial-up.
- Run dialer-group group-number
A dialer access group to which a dialer interface belongs is configured. The value of group-number must be the same as that of dialer-rule-number in the dialer-rule command used in step 1.
By default, no dialer access group is configured.
- Run dialer number dial-number
A dial string for calling the remote end is configured.
By default, no dial string is configured for calling the remote end.
- Run dialer-group group-number
- Configure automatic dial-up.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
- In a multi-APN scenario, configure a dial-up connection for a 5G cellular channel interface.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
A 5G cellular interface is created and the 5G cellular interface view is displayed.
- Run multi-apn enable
Multi-APN is enabled on the 5G cellular interface. The 5G cellular channel interface view can be displayed only after the multi-APN function is enabled.
By default, the multi-APN function is disabled on a 5G cellular interface.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
The 5G cellular channel interface view is displayed.
To enter the 5G cellular channel interface view, specify interface-number in the format of slot number/card number/main interface number:channel interface number, where the channel interface number is 1 or 2. For example, channel interface 1 of Cellular0/0/0 is numbered Cellular0/0/0:1.
- Run dialer enable-circular
The C-DCC function is enabled.
By default, the C-DCC function is disabled on an interface.
- Configure a 5G cellular channel interface to perform C-DCC dial-up.
- In the single-APN or active/standby APN scenario, configure a dial-up connection on a 5G cellular interface.
- Run quit
Return to the system view.
- Run ip route-static 0.0.0.0 0 { nexthop-address | interface-type interface-number } [ preference preference ]
A default route is configured.
By default, no unicast static route is configured.
