Configuring APN Profiles (a Single SIM Card)
Context
An APN identifies an external PDN network (for example, the Internet or an IMS network) that users want to access. 5G supports the multi-APN function, which enables users to access different networks. You can create an APN profile to configure an APN. That is, create an APN profile and bind it to a 5G cellular interface or 5G cellular channel interface. In this way, users can use the APN to access the Internet for data communication.
Procedure
- Create an APN profile.
- Bind the APN profile to a 5G cellular interface or 5G cellular channel interface.
- Bind a single APN profile to a 5G cellular interface.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
The 5G cellular interface view is displayed.
- Run apn-profile profile-name [ track nqa { admin-name test-name } &<1-2> ]
An APN profile is bound to the 5G cellular interface.
By default, no APN profile is bound to a 5G cellular interface.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
- Bind active and standby APN profiles to a 5G cellular interface.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
The 5G cellular interface view is displayed.
- Run apn-profile profile-name [ priority priority ] [ track nqa { admin-name test-name } &<1-2> ]
An APN profile is bound to the 5G cellular interface.
By default, no APN profile is bound to a 5G cellular interface.
Repeat step 1 to create another APN profile and bind the two APN profiles to the 5G cellular interface. The APN configured in the high-priority APN profile is the active APN, and that configured in the low-priority APN profile is the secondary APN. The router first uses the active APN to access the 5G network.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
- Bind each of the two 5G cellular channel interfaces to an APN profile.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
The 5G cellular interface view is displayed.
- Run multi-apn enable
Multi-APN is enabled on the 5G cellular interface.
The 5G cellular channel interface view can be displayed only after the multi-APN function is enabled.
By default, the multi-APN function is disabled on a 5G cellular interface.
Only V300R019C11SPC200 and later versions support this configuration.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
The 5G cellular channel interface view is displayed.
To enter the 5G cellular channel interface view, specify interface-number in the format of slot number/card number/main interface number:channel interface number, where the channel interface number is 1 or 2. For example, channel interface 1 of Cellular0/0/0 is numbered Cellular0/0/0:1.
- Run apn-profile profile-name [ track nqa { admin-name test-name }&<1-2> ]
An APN profile is bound to the 5G cellular channel interface.
By default, no APN profile is bound to a 5G cellular channel interface.
Repeat step 1 to create another APN profile, enter the view of the 5G cellular channel interface Cellular0/0/0:2, and bind the APN profile to the channel interface.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
- Bind a single APN profile to a 5G cellular interface.
- (Optional) Run dialer timer probe-interval interval
The NQA probe interval for a 5G cellular interface or 5G cellular channel interface is set.
By default, the NQA probe interval of a 5G cellular interface or 5G cellular channel interface is 60 seconds.
If track nqa is specified, the device performs an NQA probe on the 5G network after dial-up of a 5G cellular interface or 5G cellular channel interface is successful. If the NQA probe fails for three consecutive times, the device disconnects the 5G link. In this case, you need to set the NQA probe interval.
