Configuring the PCM Companding Algorithm
Configuring the PCM Companding Algorithm
Context
There are two pulse code modulation (PCM) companding algorithms: A-law algorithm and u-law algorithm. The A-law algorithm is mainly used in digital communication systems of Europe and China. The u-law algorithm is mainly used in digital communication systems of North America and Japan.
Choose the PCM companding algorithm based on the standard used locally.
Procedure
Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
Run interfaceserialinterface-number
The E&M interface view is displayed.
Run em pcm { a-law | u-law }
The PCM companding algorithm is configured.
By default, the PCM companding algorithm is A-law algorithm.
