Application Scenario of CT1/PRI Interfaces (CT1 Mode)
As shown in Figure 6-1, the headquarters and branch of an enterprise are connected by the transmission network of a carrier. Multiple low-rate (128 kbit/s or 256 kbit/s) T1 channels are required to transmit different services. In this scenario, timeslots in the T1 line need to be bundled into multiple channels. Each channel transmits a service. For example, two timeslots are bundled to transmit the voice service, and four timeslots are bundled to transmit the data service.

As shown in Figure 6-2, the headquarters and branch of an enterprise are connected by the integrated services digital network (ISDN) of a carrier. The routers of the enterprise connect to the ISDN through ISDN PRI interfaces.
