Setting the Compatibility Mode of the Uplink G.SHDSL Interface
Context
To enable the device to connect to the peer device, run the shdsl compatibility command to configure the capability for the G.SHDSL interface based on the chip type of the peer device.
To enable the device to connect to the peer device, set the probe mode, vendor ID, and interoperatability mode for the device.

normal indicates the device vendor ID. |
gs indicates Globespan vendor ID. gs enhanced indicates enhanced Globespan vendor ID. The peer device with Globespan vendor ID will disconnect from the router that has an ID different from Globespan vendor ID. To solve the problem, set the vendor ID to Globespan vendor ID. NOTE:
If the router configured with Globespan vendor ID cannot
communicate with the peer device, configure enhanced Globespan vendor
ID. |

Interoperatability mode |
normal indicates the default mode. |
specific indicates the mode in which the device can identify signals sent by the peer device when the device connects to the peer device equipped with Globespan chip of earlier version and the rate is less than 512 kbit/s, and the power spectral density (PSD) mode does not comply with standards. |
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run either of the following commands
to enter the G.SHDSL interface view.
- If the transmission mode is set to ATM, run:
interface atm interface-number
- If the transmission mode is set to PTM, run:
interface ethernet interface-number
- If the transmission mode is set to ATM, run:
- Run shdsl compatibility pmms { normal | long } vendor { normal | gs [ enhanced ] } filter { normal | specific }
The compatibility mode of the G.SHDSL interface is set.
By default, a G.SHDSL interface uses the normal compatibility mode.
