As shown in Figure 8-1, the headquarters and branch of an enterprise are connected by the transmission network of a carrier. The enterprise leases a 2 Mbit/s E1 line from the carrier.

Application Scenario of E1-F Interfaces Working in Framed Mode
As shown in Figure 8-2, the headquarters and branch of an enterprise are connected by the transmission network of a carrier. A low-rate (512 kbit/s for example) E1 channel is required to transmit services of the enterprise. In this scenario, timeslots in the E1 line need to be bundled into a channel. For example, eight timeslots are bundled to transmit the data service.
