Configuring APN Profiles (Dual SIM Cards)
Context
An access point name (APN) identifies an external PDN network (for example, the Internet or an IMS network) that users want to access.
You can create an APN profile to configure an APN. In the scenario where dual SIM cards and a single APN are available, you need to create two APN profiles, bind one to the master SIM card and the other to the backup SIM card, and bind the two APN profiles to the same 5G cellular interface. Then the master SIM card is connected to an LTE network, and the backup SIM card is connected to a 5G network. If dial-up fails because the account balance of the master SIM card is insufficient, the master SIM card is faulty, the 5G link signal quality is poor, or the connected LTE network is faulty, traffic is automatically switched to the backup SIM card, ensuring uninterrupted enterprise services.
The master and backup SIM cards cannot simultaneously work. Upon a SIM card switchover, traffic is interrupted for a short period.
V300R019C11SPC100 and later versions support the function.
Procedure
- Create an APN profile.
After the APN profile to be bound to the master SIM card is created, you need to repeat Creating an APN profile to create an APN profile to be bound to the backup SIM card.
- Bind the APN profiles to the 5G cellular interfaces.
