(Optional) Searching for and Selecting a PLMN
Context
A PLMN identifies a mobile communications carrier in a country or region. A service area consists of one or more PLMNs. A PLMN identifier consists of the mobile country code (MCC) and mobile network code (MNC), where:
- An MCC is a three-digit number that identifies the home country/region of a mobile subscriber.
- An MNC is a two- or three-digit number that identifies the home PLMN of a mobile subscriber.
By default, on a 5G network, the device automatically selects a PLMN.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
The 5G cellular interface view is displayed.
- (Optional) Run plmn search
The device is configured to search for available PLMNs.
After a period of time, information about available PLMNs is displayed on the device. The following is an example:
Searching for available PLMNS...Please wait... PLMN search done. Available PLMN's: PLMN NO. MCC MNC Status Type 01 460 00 Available NG-RAN 02 460 01 Available E-UTRAN 03 460 00 Available E-UTRAN
- Select a PLMN.
- Run plmn auto
The device is configured to automatically select a PLMN.
By default, the device automatically selects a PLMN.
- Run plmn select manual mcc mnc [ fail-over-auto ]
Manual PLMN selection is configured for the device.
By default, the device automatically selects a PLMN.
If fail-over-auto is specified, the device automatically selects a PLMN in the case of a failure to manually select a PLMN.
