Licensing Requirements and Limitations for Ethernet Interfaces
Involved Network Elements
None.
Licensing Requirements
Ethernet interfaces are a basic capability of an AR router and are not under license control.
Hardware Requirements
This section is applicable to all models. For details about differences for specific models, see the description in the corresponding section.
Feature Limitations
The settings of the SPEED and DUPLEX parameters and auto-negotiation mode must be the same at the local and peer ends. Otherwise, negotiation may fail.
On the AR651K, AR651, AR651-X8, AR651C, AR651F-Lite, AR651U-A4, AR651W-X4, AR651W-8P, AR651W, AR657W, AR6120, AR6120-VW, AR6121E, AR6121, AR6140E-9G-2AC, AR6140-9G-2AC, AR6121K, AR6140K-9G-2AC, AR6120-S, AR6121-S, AR6121C-S, AR6140-S, the port isolation function has the following limitations:
- Port isolation can only be used to isolate multicast and broadcast packets.
- When a port is added to a VLAN, the ACL used for port isolation is updated. Because ACL resources are limited, port isolation does not take effect when ACL resources are exhausted.
- After port isolation is enabled on an interface, the interface cannot learn source MAC addresses of broadcast and multicast packets.
