(Optional) Configuring a Network Connection Mode
Context
To maintain compatibility with carriers' 3G, LTE, and 5G networks, the 5G modem of a router provides 3G and LTE functions, in addition to 5G functions. By default, the 5G modem connects to a carrier network in automatic mode. That is, the 5G modem automatically identifies the currently connected network. If a 5G network is available, the 5G modem connects to the 5G network. If no 5G network is available, the 5G modem connects to an available LTE or 3G network. You can also manually specify the mode in which the 5G modem connects to a carrier network, for example, specify nr-lte. After the configuration, the router connects only to 5G (preferred) and LTE networks but not a 3G network. If no 5G network is available, the router connects to an LTE network.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run interface cellular interface-number
The 5G cellular interface view is displayed.
- Run mode 5g { auto | wcdma-only | lte-only | nr-only | lte-wcdma | lte-nr | nr-lte }
The network connection mode is configured for the 5G modem.
By default, the network connection mode of the 5G modem is auto.
