(Optional) Configuring a Service Domain
Context
The 3G core network consists of the circuit switched (CS) domain and packet switched (PS) domain. Voice services, such as voice calls, are processed in the CS domain, whereas data services, such as Internet access, are processed in the PS domain. Although the 5G network supports only the PS domain, the 5G modem works in both the CS and PS domains by default to be compatible with the 3G networks of carriers. If a user does not want to change the 5G network to a 3G network after accessing services in the CS domain, set the service domain of the 5G modem to ps-only. After the configuration, the 5G modem is attached only to the PS domain but not the CS domain when accessing the carrier's wireless network.
