(Optional) Configuring a Static Member Port
Context
A member port is connected to user hosts. The member ports can be learned by multicast protocol dynamically or configured manually. After Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) snooping is enabled in a VLAN, all interfaces in the VLAN learn the multicast packets by default. When an interface receives an MLD Report message, the device sets the interface as a dynamic member port. A dynamic member port has the aging time.
If the user hosts connected to an interface need to receive the multicast packets destined for a specific multicast group or multicast source group, add the interface to the multicast group or multicast source group manually. The manually added interface is a static member port. The static member port never ages.
