Configured IPv6 Multicast Group Policy Fails to Take Effect
Fault Description
The multicast group policy enables hosts to join certain multicast groups. However, after the multicast group policy is configured on the device, the host still receives multicast data sent to other multicast groups.
Procedure
- Run the display acl ipv6 command to check whether the configured IPv6 access control list (ACL6) rules match the multicast group policy.
- Run the display mld-snooping configuration command to check whether the multicast group policy configured in a VLAN is correct. If not, run the mld-snooping group-policy command to configure the correct multicast group policy.
- Run the display current-configuration command to check whether the device is enabled to discard unknown multicast packet. If not, run the multicast drop-unknown command to enable the device to discard unknown multicast packets.
