Multicast Group Policy Does Not Take Effect
Fault Description
A multicast policy is configured on the router to allow the hosts to join the specified multicast groups. However, the hosts can still receive multicast data sent to other multicast groups.
Procedure
- Run the display acl command to check whether the access control list (ACL) rules conflict with the multicast group policy.
- Run the display igmp-snooping configuration command to check whether a correct multicast group policy is applied in the VLAN. If not, run the igmp-snooping group-policy command to apply a correct multicast group policy.
- Run the display current-configuration | include drop-unknown command to check whether the router is enabled to discard unknown multicast packets. If not, run the multicast drop-unknown command to enable the router to discard unknown multicast packets.
