Configuring Basic IGMP Functions
Context
Hosts can connect to multicast networks and receive multicast packets after basic IGMP configuration is complete on interfaces connected to user networks.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring IGMP basic functions, configure a unicast routing protocol to ensure that multicast devices have reachable unicast routes to each other.
Configuration Procedure
Enabling IGMP and Configuring the IGMP Version are mandatory. The other configuration tasks are optional.
