Extranet Hosts Accessing Intranet Servers
Some servers on private networks, such as web and FTP servers, may need to provide services for public network users. NAT can be used to implement such services. As shown in Figure 5-22, static NAT is configured, and the mappings between the public IP address and port number and the private IP address and port number are defined. As a result, the host on the public network can access the server on the private network based on NAT mapping entries.
