(Optional) Configuring Vendor Information to Be Carried in DHCPv6 Request Packets
Context
DHCPv6 Option16 is Vendor Class Option, which is used by a DHCPv6 client to provide its hardware vendor information to the DHCPv6 server.
You can configure this function on the interface where the DHCPv6 client is enabled so that the DHCPv6 request packets sent by the DHCPv6 client carry Option 16.
This function is supported only in V300R019C13 and later versions.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run interface interface-type interface-number
The interface view is displayed.
- Run dhcpv6 option16 insert { ascii ascii-string | hex hex-string }
The device is configured to carry Option 16 in DHCPv6 request packets.
By default, the DHCPv6 request packets sent by a DHCPv6 client do not carry Option 16.
