Configuring a DHCPv6 Relay Agent
Pre-configuration Tasks
A DHCPv6 relay agent enables the DHCPv6 client and server on different links to exchange DHCPv6 messages. The DHCPv6 relay agent forwards DHCP messages to the destination DHCPv6 server on a different network segment. DHCPv6 clients on multiple networks can share one DHCPv6 server.
Before configuring a DHCPv6 relay agent, complete the following tasks:
Configure the peer DHCPv6 server or DHCPv6 PD server.
Configure a route from the RouterIndustrial Switch Router to the DHCPv6 server or DHCPv6 PD server.

- (Optional) Inserting the Interface-ID or Remote-ID Option Information into DHCPv6 Messages
- (Optional) Configuring the Function of Inserting the Option79 Field into DHCPv6 Messages
- (Optional) Configuring the DHCPv6 Message Rate Limit and Alarm Function of DHCPv6 Messages Discarded
