What Is the Function of Interface Priorities?
The port priority command sets the interface priorities, that is, specifies the default priorities of incoming packets on the interface. AR series routers send packets to different queues based on the interface priority. By default, the Interfaces on AR routers do not trust packet priorities. Packets enter queues according to the interface priority.
- For AR300&AR600&AR700&AR1600 series, AR6120, AR6120-VW, AR6121, AR6121E, AR6121K, AR6140-16G4XG, AR6140-9G-2AC, AR6140E-9G-2AC, and AR6140K-9G-2AC: the device sends packets to different interface queues based on the mapped 802.1p priorities, and uses the queue scheduling to provide services for packets with different priorities.
- For AR6200 and AR6300 series: the device sends packets to different interface queues based on the mapped local priorities, and use the queue scheduling to provide services for packets with different priorities.
- For AR6120-S, AR6121-S, AR6121C-S, AR6121E-S, AR6121EC-S, AR6140-S, AR6140E-S, and AR6140H-S: the device sends packets to different interface queues based on the mapped 802.1p priorities, and uses the queue scheduling to provide services for packets with different priorities.
