Configuring a Sub-interface to Inherit the Traffic Policy on a VE Interface
Pre-configuration Tasks
Context
As the number of users increases continuously and services develop, users require differentiated services to have better QoS. HQoS implements hierarchical scheduling based on multiple levels of queues. It differentiates both services and users and provides refined QoS guarantee for users. Therefore, HQoS is increasingly widely used. Applying HQoS only on main interfaces cannot meet increasing demands.
An outbound sub-interface can be configured to inherit the HQoS traffic policy configured on a VE interface. When traffic traverses the sub-interface, the HQoS traffic policy on the VE interface is implemented. In this way, HQoS is implemented on the sub-interface.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run interface interface-type interface-number.subinterface-number
The sub-interface view is displayed.
- Run traffic-policy inherit-interface virtual-ethernet ve-number outbound
The outbound sub-interface is configured to inherit the traffic policy on a VE interface.
By default, an outbound sub-interface does not inherit the traffic policy on a VE interface.
