Application Scenarios for Bandwidth Management
This section describes the application scenario of bandwidth management.
As shown in Figure 10-1, voice, video, and data services on a LAN of an enterprise equally share bandwidth on the LAN. The enterprise faces the following problems:
- When users on the LAN access the Internet, the required bandwidth is much larger than the bandwidth that the enterprise leases from the carrier, resulting in bandwidth bottlenecks.
- Video services consume most bandwidth resources. As a result, bandwidth of voice services cannot be ensured.
Bandwidth guarantee or limiting rules can be configured on the WAN interface of RouterA to control data traffic of different services.
