Collecting Probe Request and Beacon Frames
Context
When the device functions as a Fat AP to build a wireless network, it receives Probe Request frames from nearby STAs and Beacon frames from nearby Fat APs. These frames contain information about the STAs and Fat APs, such as their MAC addresses and RSSIs.
To analyze and know wireless environments around the device, you can enable the function of collecting Probe Request and Beacon frames on the device.
In V300R019C11, this function is supported only by the AR6120-VW.
Procedure
- Run system-view
The system view is displayed.
- Run set wlan record { all [ log ] | probe log | beacon log } enable
The function of collecting Probe Request and Beacon frames on the device is enabled.
By default, the function of collecting Probe Request and Beacon frames is disabled on the device.
- (Optional) Run wlan record log timer interval
The interval for saving information about Probe Request and Beacon frames is specified.
By default, the device saves information about the Probe Request and Beacon frames every 10 seconds.
Follow-up Procedure
Run the display wlan record { all | probe | beacon } [ interface wlan-radio wlan-radio-number ] command in any view to check information about the Probe Request and Beacon frames collected by the device.
- Run the reset wlan record command in the user view to clear information about the Probe Request and Beacon frames collected by the device.
