Configuring Traffic Policing
Configuring Traffic Policing
You can configure traffic policing to limit the STA transmission
rate or AP forwarding rate, which prevents network congestion.
Context
To protect network resources and prevent network congestion,
you can configure traffic policing to limit the rate of traffic entering
the WLAN.
Traffic policing can be configured in a traffic profile to limit
the rate of upstream and downstream traffic of a single user or all
users on the VAP bound to the traffic profile.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring
traffic policing, complete the following task:
Run traffic-profile { nameprofile-name | idprofile-id } *
The traffic profile view is created or entered.
Run rate-limit vap { up | down } rate-limit-value
The rate limit is configured for upstream and downstream
traffic on all STAs associated with a VAP.
By default, the rate limit for upstream and downstream traffic
on all STAs associated with a VAP is 4294967295, in kbit/s.
Run rate-limit client { up | down } rate-limit-value
The rate limit is configured for upstream and downstream
traffic on each STA associated with a VAP.
By default, the rate limit for upstream and downstream traffic
on each STA associated with a VAP is 4294967295, in kbit/s.
Verifying the Configuration
Run the display traffic-profile { all | idprofile-id | nameprofile-name } command to check the configuration of the
rate limit for upstream and downstream traffic of all STAs in the
VAP in the traffic profile.
