Installing a Controller Enclosure
This section describes how to slide and secure a controller enclosure into the cabinet, and then check the installation.
Prerequisites
The adjustable guide rails have been properly installed and the protective cover of the controller enclosure has been removed.
The following installation tools and materials are ready:
- Phillips screwdriver (M3 to M6)
- ESD wrist strap
- ESD clothes
- ESD gloves
Precautions
- To avoid personal injury or device damage, arrange for at least three persons to carry and install a 2 U controller enclosure.
- If you remove disks to facilitate the movement and installation of the device, record the mapping between each disk and its slot in advance, so you can easily insert each disk back to its correct slot.
- Storage devices must be installed on adjustable guide rails. Stacking devices may damage them.
Procedure
- Slide a 2 U controller enclosure into the cabinet and tighten the captive screws to secure it to the cabinet.Figure 5-31 Installing a 2 U controller enclosure into a cabinet (using a 25-disk controller enclosure as an example)
- Check that the controller enclosure is horizontally installed and tightly screwed in.
