Creating a HyperCDP Schedule
You can define HyperCDP schedules to enable a storage system to automatically create HyperCDP objects according to the schedules, ensuring fast data recovery.
Prerequisites
- The LUN or PG does not have a HyperCDP schedule.
- Features that conflict with HyperCDP are not configured on the source LUN or PG.
- The storage system is running properly, and the storage pool where the source LUN or PG resides has sufficient space.
Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Plans > HyperCDP > HyperCDP Schedules.
- Click Create.
The Create HyperCDP Schedule page is displayed.
- Configure basic information about the HyperCDP schedule.
Table 2-1 describes the parameters.
Table 2-1 Basic HyperCDP schedule parametersParameter
Description
Name
Name of the HyperCDP schedule.
NOTE:- The name cannot be left blank and must be unique.
- The name contains letters, digits, underscores (_), periods (.), or hyphens (-).
- The name must contain 1 to 31 characters.
Description
Description of the HyperCDP schedule. This parameter is optional.
NOTE:The description can be left blank or contain up to 255 characters.
- Select the desired PGs or LUNs.
- In PGs, select the desired PGs from Available PGs and click
to add them to Selected PGs.
- In LUNs, select the desired LUNs from Available LUNs and click
to add them to Selected LUNs.
- In PGs, select the desired PGs from Available PGs and click
- Click Next.
- Configure HyperCDP schedule policies as required.
The storage system supports four configuration modes, which can be executed concurrently.
- Fixed Period
- Set a fixed period to create HyperCDP objects.
The default start time of the HyperCDP schedule is 1970-01-01 00:00:00 (standard computer time).
- If you set the schedule by hour, the value ranges from 1 to 24.
- If you set the schedule by minute, the value ranges from 1 to 1440.
- If you set the schedule by second, HyperCDP objects will be created every 10 seconds by default.
- In Retention, set a retention policy for HyperCDP objects. You can set a retention period or the number of HyperCDP objects you want to retain.
- Retain for
Set a retention period for HyperCDP objects. The value must be an integral multiple of the execution interval.
- Retained objects
Set the number of retained HyperCDP objects. The value ranges from 1 to 60000.
You do not need to set the two values simultaneously because once you set one value, the system automatically calculates the other value. For example, if you set a retention period for HyperCDP objects, the system automatically calculates the retained quantity.
- Retain for
- Set a fixed period to create HyperCDP objects.
- Execute daily
- Set the point in time every day for the storage system to create HyperCDP objects. The value ranges from 00:00 to 23:59 at the local time zone.
- Set Retained Objects Per Member. The value ranges from 1 to 256.
- Execute weekly
- Set the point in time and days in a week for the storage system to create HyperCDP objects. The value ranges from 00:00 Sunday to 23:59 Saturday at the local time zone.
- Set Retained Objects Per Member. The value ranges from 1 to 256.
- Execute monthly
- Set the point in time and days in a month for the storage system to create HyperCDP objects. The value ranges from 00:00 Day 1 to 23:59 Day 31 (or last day) at the local time zone.
- Set Retained Objects Per Member. The value ranges from 1 to 256.
