Starting Synchronizing or Reversely Synchronizing a Clone Pair
This section describes how to start synchronizing or reversely synchronizing a clone pair. In this way, the storage system can start synchronizing data from the source object to the target LUN or reversely synchronizing data from the target LUN to the source object.
Prerequisites
- Health Status of the clone pair is Normal.
- Running Status of the clone pair to be synchronized is Unsynchronized or Normal.
- Running Status of the clone pair to be reversely synchronized is Normal.
Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > LUNs > Clone Pairs.
- Start synchronization or reverse synchronization.
- Start synchronization.
Select the clone pair to be synchronized and choose Synchronize > Start.
Alternatively, perform any of the following operations to start synchronization:
- Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Sync.
- Click the name of the desired clone pair. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, click Operation and select Start Sync.
- Choose Services > Block Service > LUNs.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone pair and choose Synchronize > Start.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Sync.
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > LUNs > LUNs.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone pair and choose Synchronize > Start.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Sync.
- Click the value in the Clone Pairs column of the desired LUN if the value is not 0. On the Protection tab page, select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone pair and choose Synchronize > Start.
- Click the value in the Clone Pairs column of the desired LUN if the value is not 0. On the Protection tab page, select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Sync.
- Click
- Start reverse synchronization.
- Select the clone pair to be reversely synchronized and choose Reverse Sync > Start.
The Start Reverse Synchronizing Clone Pair page is displayed on the right.
Alternatively, perform any of the following operations to go to the Start Reverse Synchronizing Clone Pair page:
- Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Reverse Sync.
- Click the name of the desired clone pair. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, click Operation and select Start Reverse Sync.
- Choose Services > Block Service > LUNs.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone pair and choose Reverse Sync > Start.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Reverse Sync.
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > LUNs > LUNs.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone pair and choose Reverse Sync > Start.
- Click the name of the desired LUN. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Reverse Sync.
- Click the value in the Clone Pairs column of the desired LUN if the value is not 0. On the Protection tab page, select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone pair and choose Reverse Sync > Start.
- Click the value in the Clone Pairs column of the desired LUN if the value is not 0. On the Protection tab page, select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone pair and select Start Reverse Sync.
- Click
- On the displayed Start Reverse Synchronizing Clone Pair page, set Reverse Sync Type. Possible options are as follows:
- FullCopy: copies all data of an object to another.
- DiffCopy: copies only differential data between two objects.
- Select the clone pair to be reversely synchronized and choose Reverse Sync > Start.
- Start synchronization.
- Click OK.
Confirm your operation as prompted.
