Creating PGs
Before data protection, you need to create protected objects, including PGs and LUNs. This section describes how to create a PG. A PG is a LUN group or a collection of LUNs.
Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > Protection Groups > Protection Groups.
- Click Create.
The Create PG page is displayed on the right.
- Set the PG name.
- The name must be unique.
- The name contains letters, digits, underscores (_), periods (.), and hyphens (-).
- The name must contain 1 to 31 characters.
- (Optional) Set the PG description.
The description can be left blank or contain up to 255 characters.
- Set objects of the PG, including Existing LUN and Existing LUN Group.
- Existing LUN
- In the Available LUNs area, select one or more LUNs.
- Click
to add them to Selected LUNs.
- Existing LUN Group
In the list, select the LUN group that you want to add to the PG.
- Existing LUN
- Click OK.
