Pausing Synchronization or Reverse Synchronization
This section describes how to pause synchronization or reverse synchronization when system services are busy. In this way, the storage system can temporarily stop copying data from the source object to the target LUN or copying data from the target LUN to the source object. In off-peak hours, you can resume synchronization or reverse synchronization.
Prerequisites
- Health Status of the clone CG is Normal.
- Running Status of the clone CG for which you want to pause synchronization is Synchronizing.
- Running Status of the clone CG for which you want to pause reverse synchronization is FullCopy reverse syncing or DiffCopy reverse syncing.
Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > Protection Groups > Clone CGs.
- Select the desired clone CG and choose Synchronize > Pause or Reverse Sync > Pause.
Alternatively, perform any of the following operations to pause synchronization or reverse synchronization for a clone CG:
- Click
on the right of the desired clone CG and select Pause Sync or Pause Reverse Sync.
- Click the name of the clone CG. In the upper right corner of the page that is displayed, click Operation and then select Pause Sync or Pause Reverse Sync.
- Choose Services > Block Service > LUN Groups.
- Click the name of the desired LUN group. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone CG and choose Synchronize > Pause or Reverse Sync > Pause.
- Click the name of the desired LUN group. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone CG and select Pause Sync or Pause Reverse Sync.
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entities > Protection Groups > Protection Groups.
- Click the name of the desired PG. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone CG and choose Synchronize > Pause or Reverse Sync > Pause.
- Click the name of the desired PG. On the page that is displayed, click the Protection tab and select Clone from the drop-down list. Click
on the right of the desired clone CG and select Pause Sync or Pause Reverse Sync.
- Click the value in the Clone CGs column of the desired PG if the value is not 0. On the Protection tab page, select Clone from the drop-down list. Select the desired clone CG and choose Synchronize > Pause or Reverse Sync > Pause.
