Inspection on SmartKit
- Download the latest SmartKit from https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/cloud-storage/oceanstor-toolkit-pid-8576706/software.
- After starting SmartKit, activate it as a Huawei engineer or a channel partner engineer. On the Home page, click Health Check in the Route Maintenance area.
- On the Health Check page, click Device Selection.
- If device information already exists, select the device and specify a path for saving the inspection result. Then click OK.
- If no device information exists
- Click Add Device.
- In the Add Device dialog box, specify the IP address of the device and click Next.
- Enter the login information and click Finish.
- Repeat the preceding steps to add the remote device of HyperMetro.
- Specify a path for saving the inspection result and click OK.
If you add HyperMetro storage systems, SmartKit will label them with
. When you move your cursor on the label, a message pops up showing the remote storage system. If one storage system in a HyperMetro pair is selected, the other one is selected automatically.
- On the Health Check page, click Inspection.
- On the Inspection Wizard page, select Routine inspection (used in routine maintenance scenarios after service deployment) and click Next.
- On the Select Devices page, click Add Device and add the host to which HyperMetro LUNs have been mapped.
When adding a FusionSphere host, set the host type to Linux and the IP address to the system IP address of the CNA node instead of that of the BMC network port. Use the gandalf account and select Switch to user root.
- Retain the default check items for the HyperMetro storage systems and host, and click Next.
- On the Start Inspection page, you can view the inspection progress. Rectify the failed items if any.
Rectify the faults by referring to the suggestions of the failed items. If the frontline personnel cannot determine how to rectify the faults, contact R&D engineers or storage TAC/GTAC for assistance.
- Click View the report to view the inspection report.
- After the inspection is complete, click Information Collection on the Health Check page.
- On the Information Collection page, select devices and collect information. After logs and inspection reports are collected, send the information back to Huawei.
- Logs can be sent by SmartKit. You do not need to send them by email.
- Before sending the logs and report, you are advised to encapsulate all logs and report in a package.
- Name the package in the following format: date + product model + Inspection work order (optional) + representative office + site name.
