Removing an External USB Flash Drive
Procedure
- Determine the position of the USB flash drive.
- Eject the USB flash drive.
- On the Linux OS, run the umount command.
- On the Windows OS, right-click the USB flash drive and choose Eject from the shortcut menu.
- Remove the USB flash drive from the USB port.Figure 8-145 Removing a USB flash drive
- Place the removed component in an ESD bag.

- Power off the server.

- Place the server on the ESD workstation.
- Remove the chassis cover.

- Place the removed component in an ESD bag.
