Installing a Left Mounting Ear
Procedure
- Place the server on the ESD workstation.
- Remove the chassis cover.
For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
- Remove the air duct or built-in drive module.

- Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
- Determine the position of the left mounting ear.
- Install the left mounting ear.
- Route the mounting ear signal cable through the chassis. See (1) in Figure 6-156.
- Connect the signal cable to the connector of the left mounting ear on the mainboard. See (2) in Figure 6-156.
- Install the left mounting ear. See (3) in Figure 6-156.
- Tighten the screw to secure the mounting ear. See (4) in Figure 6-156.
- Install the air duct or built-in drive module.

- Install the chassis cover.

- Install the server.

- Connect the power cables to the PSUs.
