Removing a Fan Module
- The fan modules support hot swap. If you can open the chassis cover without removing the server (for example, the server is not installed in a cabinet or the server is installed on a static rail kit or ball bearing rail kit), you do not need to perform Step 1 to Step 4.
- To ensure adequate cooling effect during system operation, hot swap only one fan module at a time.
Procedure
- Power off the server.
For details, see Power-Off Procedure.
- Remove the power cables from the PSUs.
For details, see Removing PSU Cables.
