Installing a Right Mounting Ear
Procedure
- Place the server on the ESD workstation.
- Remove the chassis cover.

- Remove the air duct or built-in drive module.
For details, see Removing the Air Duct or Removing the Built-in Drive Module.
- Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
- Determine the position of the right mounting ear.
- Installing a right mounting ear
- Route the mounting ear signal cable through the chassis. See (1) in Figure 6-158.
- Install the right mounting ear. See (2) in Figure 6-158.
- Tighten the screw to secure the mounting ear. See (4) in Figure 6-158.
- Connect the signal cable to the connector of the right mounting ear on the mainboard. See (4) in Figure 6-158.
- Install the air duct or built-in drive module.

- Install the chassis cover.

- Install the server.

- Connect the power cables to the PSUs.

- The server starts to be powered on.

- Check the indicators on the right mounting ear for fault.
