Installing the Screw-in RAID Controller Card
Procedure
- Power off the server.
For details, see Power-Off Procedure.
- Remove the power cables from the PSUs.
For details, see Removing PSU Cables.
- Remove the server.
For details, see Removing the Server.
- Place the server on the ESD workstation.
- Remove the chassis cover.
For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
- Determine whether a built-in drive module is configured.
- Remove the built-in drive module.
For details, see Removing the Built-in Drive Module.
- Check whether I/O module 2 is configured with a full-height full-length PCIe riser module.
- Remove the PCIe riser modules.

- Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
- Check whether a supercapacitor is configured.
- Install the supercapacitor.

- Install the RAID controller card.
- Insert the RAID controller card vertically into the connector on the mainboard. See (1) in Figure 6-78.
- Tighten the screws to secure the RAID controller card. See (2) in Figure 6-78.
- Connect the cable to the RAID controller card.

- Check whether I/O module 2 is configured with a full-height full-length PCIe riser module.
- Install the PCIe riser modules.

- Install the chassis cover.

- Power on the server.

- Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and check whether the new component is normal.
