Installing the Supercapacitor
Procedure
- Power off the server.
For details, see Power-Off Procedure.
- Remove the power cables from the PSUs.
For details, see Removing PSU Cables.
- Remove the server.
For details, see Removing the Server.
- Place the server on the ESD workstation.
- Remove the chassis cover.
For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
- Check whether a full-height full-length PCIe riser module is installed.
- Remove the full-height full-length PCIe riser module.
For details, see Removing a PCIe Riser Module.
- Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
- Determine the position of the supercapacitor.
- Insert the supercapacitor into the holder until the supercapacitor is locked.Figure 6-82 Installing the supercapacitor
- Secure the supercapacitor holder to the air duct.Figure 6-83 Installing a supercapacitor holder
- Check whether the supercapacitor is configured with a TFM.
- Install the TFM.
- Remove the screw-in RAID controller card.
- Remove the cable from the RAID controller card.

- Loosen the screws that secure the RAID controller card. See (1) in Figure 6-84.
- Remove the RAID controller card from the connector on the mainboard. See (2) in Figure 6-84.
- Remove the cable from the RAID controller card.
- Install studs on the TFM. See (1) in Figure 6-85.
- Insert the TFM into the screw-in RAID controller card. See (2) in Figure 6-85.
- Tighten the screws to secure the TFM. See (3) in Figure 6-85.
- Install the screw-in RAID controller card.

- Go to Step 15.
- Remove the screw-in RAID controller card.
- Connect the cable between the supercapacitor and the screw-in RAID controller card.
- Check whether a full-height full-length PCIe riser module is installed.
- Install the full-height full-length PCIe riser module.

- Install the chassis cover.

- Install the server.

- Connect the power cables to the PSUs.

- Power on the server.

- Log in to the iBMC WebUI, and check whether the new component is normal.
