Removing a PSU
Removing an AC PSU
The server supports two PSUs. The methods for removing the two PSUs are the same. This following describes how to remove one PSU as an example.
Procedure
- Determine the number of PSUs in the server.
If the server is fully configured with PSUs, you can remove PSUs without powering off the server. However, before removing PSUs, ensure that the remaining PSUs are operating properly and the total rated power is greater than or equal to the rated power of the server.
- Power off the server.
For details, see Power-Off Procedure.
- Determine the position of the PSU.Figure 8-52 Positions of PSUs
- Remove the power cable from the PSU.
For details, see Removing the AC PSU Cable.
- Press and hold down the latch on the PSU, and pull the PSU out of the slot by holding its handle.Figure 8-53 Removing a PSU
- Place the removed component in an ESD bag.
- Install a PSU filler panel.
Perform this operation only when a PSU is not installed immediately.
