Removing the VGA Board
Procedure
- Power off the server.
For details, see Power-Off Procedure.
- Remove the power cables from the PSUs.
For details, see Removing PSU Cables.
- Remove the server.
For details, see Removing the Server.
- Place the server on the ESD workstation.
- Remove the chassis cover.
For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
- Remove the air duct or built-in drive module.
For details, see Removing the Air Duct or Removing the Built-in Drive Module.
- Remove all fan modules.
For details, see Removing a Fan Module.
- Remove the fan module bracket.
- Pressing the latches on both sides of the fan module bracket, lift the fan module bracket vertically. See (1) and (2) in Figure 8-137.
- Remove the other fan module bracket in the same way.
- Remove the VGA and DVD drive cables from the mainboard and front-drive backplane.

- Remove the bracket.
- Pull the bolt that secures the bracket. See (1) in Figure 8-138.
- Push out the bracket horizontally. See (2) in Figure 8-138.
- Determine the position of the VGA board.
- Remove the VGA board.
- Remove the cables from the VGA board.
- Loosen the screws that secure the VGA board. See (1) in Figure 8-139.
- Remove the VGA board horizontally. See (2) in Figure 8-139.
- Place the removed component in an ESD bag.
