Installing the DVD Drive
Procedure
- Power off the server.
For details, see Power-Off Procedure.
- Remove the power cables from the PSUs.
For details, see Removing PSU Cables.
- Remove the server.
For details, see Removing the Server.
- Place the server on the ESD workstation.
- Remove the chassis cover.
For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
- Remove the air duct or built-in drive module.
For details, see Removing the Air Duct or Removing the Built-in Drive Module.
- Remove all fan modules.
For details, see Removing a Fan Module.
- Remove the fan module bracket.
- Pressing the latches on both sides of the fan module bracket, lift the fan module bracket vertically. See (1) and (2) in Figure 8-70.
- Remove the other fan module bracket in the same way.
- Take the spare part out of its ESD bag.
- Determine the position of the DVD drive.
- Install the DVD drive.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten two M2 flat-head screws to secure the plastic handle to the DVD drive. See (1) in Figure 8-71.
- Insert the DVD drive into the server. See (2) in Figure 8-71.
- Connect the cables between the DVD drive and the mainboard and front-drive backplane. See (3) in Figure 8-71.
